Privacy? What is that?

This article is a nice reminder of exactly how much we all share about ourselves through our mobile phones. It is very hard, if not impossible, to not leave a trace in this digital age; and these data remain recorded forever. Some of that data are given away voluntarily, some we give, because we don’t realise it is being collected, and most of all we don’t give this problem any consideration in our daily lives. The very definition of the term ‘privacy’ is shifting, and with it – what Norberto Bobbio (1997) famously called one of the grand dichotomies of the Western civilisation, the private/public dichotomy.
