Goldsmiths College, New Cross, London

We are seeking to appoint four experienced postdoctoral
researchers to join the Department of Sociology to work on a
European Research Council (ERC) funded project, Peopling
Europe: How data make a people (ARITHMUS).

Reporting to Professor Evelyn Ruppert, the Principal
Investigator (PI), you will be responsible for a case study of a
national statistical institute, which will involve conducting
ethnographic fieldwork, interviews and textual analyses. Three of
the posts require excellent oral, written and reading skills in
English plus one of Estonian, Dutch or Turkish; one post
requires these skills in English only.

You will have a PhD in a relevant field (e.g., sociology,
anthropology, geography, science and technology studies) and
experience working with qualitative methods and data analysis.
Knowledge of science and technology studies, digital studies and
scholarly work in the field of Big Data and of basic statistical
concepts and quantitative methods also required. Knowledge of
and experience working with official statistics desired.
