RUFUS STONE: A Study on Ageing in Rural Britain
A four-year research project at Bournemouth University titled "Gay and Pleasant Land?" delved into the lives and ageing experiences of the gay population in rural South West England and Wales. This project, as part of the Research Councils UK-funded New Dynamics of Ageing Programme, culminated in the creation of an award-winning short film, RUFUS STONE. The narrative, while fictive, draws upon deep and true reflections of the narrations, depicting a vivid 'fictive reality' that echoes the complexity of human experience.

The author, serving as Project Lead, wrapped the research in a fabric of creativity, combining narrated biography, visual ethnography, auto-ethnography, and improvisation.
