Is Liberal Democracy at Risk?
Emma Bonino, Ronald Dworkin, George Soros, and Guy Verhofstadt debate the future of liberal democracy in general, and of the European project in particular. The contradictions between liberalism and democracy are widely discussed in both academic circles and the media. This debate does not solve them, but it manages to raise a number of uncomfortable issues in a well argued and comprehensible way.
The debate, moderated by Charles Taylor, was organised by the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) and took place in the Vienna Akademietheater on 6th June 2011.
